Dr. Julie Morasch has joined AMIC as its new Director. Julie brings with her deep experience in nanoscale imaging and mechanical analysis as well as a breadth of understanding of industrial applications. Additionally, she is very knowledgeable of the resources available across the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus and the UW system, more broadly.
Julie has been at UW–Madison for 15 years, including the previous 8 years at the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology. Her many years at the university and in particular at the WCNT gives her a unique perspective and ability to both connect AMIC industrial members with university faculty and provide research recommendations on available instrumentation.
“I look forward to working with our AMIC members. I know many of them from my work at the Centers. Now, I am excited to serve as their first point of contact at the university when they need access to instrumentation or the advice of one of our faculty with specialized expertise. We will also help our members in their recruiting efforts with access to our pool of talented graduate students and postdocs,” said Morasch.
