2026 UW AMIC Joint Annual Meeting on Advanced Materials & Bio-Manufacturing for Health Sciences

We are pleased to announce the upcoming joint event organized by the UW Advanced Materials Industrial Consortium (AMIC), the Wisconsin Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC), and the Badger Tech Foundry at the UW–Madison College of Engineering.

This conference will bring together federal agency representatives, industry partners, faculty, students, and staff for an in-depth exploration of advanced materials, bio-manufacturing, and health sciences.

 Key focus areas will include:

  • Stem cell engineering & therapeutics
  • Antibody engineering & therapeutics
  • Human organoid and tissue platforms
  • Translational and bio-manufacturing challenges

The program will emphasize cross‑sector collaboration to improve the scalability and manufacturability of stem‑cell, antibody, and tissue‑based therapeutics. In addition to technical and informational presentations, the event will feature breakfast and lunch sessions, a student poster session, and invited talks from industry leaders.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Joni L. Rutter, Ph.D., Director of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the NIH, as the keynote speaker for this year’s Annual Meeting. A nationally and internationally recognized leader in translational science, Dr. Rutter oversees NIH programs dedicated to accelerating the development of new treatments, improving research efficiency, and ensuring scientific discoveries move more rapidly from lab to patient. Her distinguished career spans leadership roles across NIH, including the All of Us Research Program and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, with a strong focus on cross‑sector collaboration, rare diseases, and innovation in biomedical research.
