The Advanced Materials Industrial Consortium (AMIC) achieved significant success in connecting with industry partners at this year’s Engineering Career Fair. This major recruitment event saw a record number of participants, providing an excellent platform for industry leaders to explore our extensive engineering talent and research resources.
Key Highlights of the Engineering Career Fair:
- Access Top Talent: Engage with highly skilled engineering students ready for full-time roles, summer internships, and co-op opportunities. Our career fair offers an exceptional chance to connect with the next generation of engineering professionals.
- Explore Research Opportunities: Collaborate with our students, faculty, and staff to further advance your R&D initiatives. Our institution offers a diverse set of research resources across various engineering disciplines.
- Join Our Industrial Consortia: Identify the right industrial consortium within our College of Engineering for ongoing engagement and collaborative opportunities.
AMIC, as the industrial outreach arm of the Wisconsin Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, is one of the industrial consortia within our college. During the event, AMIC’s Director, Xiujuan (Jane) Zhang, actively engaged with numerous employers at their tables, promoting AMIC’s key benefits and the value of joining as a member. Below are the core advantages AMIC offers to its members:
- Membership Benefits: AMIC membership enhances its member company’s visibility within the engineering community and provides facilitated access to top talent, shared facilities, and research expertise.
- Lunch Seminars and Company Site Visits: AMIC hosts exclusive lunch seminars to facilitate interaction between industry representatives, students, and faculty, creating a casual yet productive networking environment. Additionally, it organizes visits to member company sites, allowing graduate students, faculty, and staff to learn about your engineering challenges and explore collaborative research opportunities.
- Annual Meeting: Our annual meeting offers members the chance to connect directly with UWCoE students, faculty and staff. This event fosters deeper member-to-member collaboration, provides networking opportunities, and is a full-day event dedicated to strengthening industry-academic partnerships.
We wish you success in your recruitment initiatives this year. If your company is interested in continued collaboration, please reach out to Xiujuan (Jane) Zhang at Xiujuan.zhang@wisc.edu. We are also excited to announce that our next AMIC Annual Meeting will be held on February 28, 2025, focusing on next-generation microelectronics. We invite your company to participate, either by hosting a booth to showcase your products or by discussing your R&D projects with our members. Thank you for your continued partnership!
